I have no words
I actually had a ton of rants saved up and maybe a 'I adore my technology-hating history prof' (he rebels against the IT team--instant points--and tried to send our entire class to Haiti to help. I love him) post, but I decided this was more interesting. Apparently, there are actually some members of my family that adhere to the 'DON'T DATE UNTIL YOU'RE OUT OF UNI' semi-ironclad rule. But that's not what this is about. Sort of.

So one of my cousins got his first girlfriend. He's older than me by at least 3 years (I'm pretty sure about this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 5). Remember when I had a meltdown in August because a hated-cousin was coming over? This is his older brother. I actually dislike him, too, but he's...quiet, so his assholery and obnoxiousness doesn't come out as much. But he's pretty OCD and inflexible. Like 'What steel pole shoved its way up your ass' does not even begin; more like 'You know, that steel pole had trouble going up--you're way too stiff/agitated'

I am also 85% sure after this drama that he has an Oedipus Complex. I guess childhood trauma might have come into it, but bottom line, I am more or less convinced he has the complex.

Back to the GF. They went out for a month or so before he broke it off with this statement:

"You're a horrible girl! You never help my mom when you're over! You're just there--expecting her to do everything. You don't even say anything to my family--just hellos, goodbyes and thank yous. You're not even that pretty--if you can't even be nice, how the hell do you expect a guy to like you? I don't even know why I went out with you! It's obvious that the only way you could get any guy to like you is if you change your entire personality!"

My brother's ex-ex-GF was actually exactly like that and they still went out for 3 years before she broke it off. And my brother was pretty abusive (I will say nothing about myself). That was Assholery in one.

So he talks to my brother about this and he got lashed about how you can't talk to a girl like that (you can, but only if she's the type of girl who is an enthusiastic crotch-kicker). And this girl--a fucking dumbass in my opinion because of this--likes him enough that she's waiting for him to get back together with her. But my cousin is just going to get back with her so that he can break up with her nicely. (And my aunt is just sitting back feeling loved.)

My family is just sitting back laughing. I have no words.

And I swear once this is posted I will be on my way to Fairview. Promise.
